Sebastian Jünemann is a senior scientist with extensive experience in bioinformatics and sequence based data analysis. He is affiliated with Forschungszentrum Jülich (IBG-5, Computational Metagenomics) and has previously worked at the University Hospital Münster and at the Center for Biotechnology (CeBiTec) at Bielefeld University, Germany. His research focuses on the development and application of bioinformatics tools for the analysis of next-generation sequencing data, in particular on metagenomics and amplicon analyses, but also on benchmarking, (cloud-based) research data management, research infrastructures, cloud computing, and training. Sebastian Jünemann has contributed to various collaborative projects in computational biology and has authored numerous scientific publications in the field. Currently, he coordinates the German Competence Center Cloud‐Technologies for Data Management and Processing (de.KCD).
